Formula Electric Projects

Click on the images or the titles to take a deep dive into a specific project. These Project pages are under construction, so some might not have a dedicated page. Feel free to contact me to ask about any of my projects!

Accumulator Management System (AMS) -In Progress

The Accumulator Management System manages all of the electronics inside of the battery. It is responsible for checking the health of the battery, opening and closing the contactors, precharging the tractive system, and more. Some key features of this project include SPI communication, driving MOSFETS, HV isolation on PCBs, and CAN communication.

New HV Battery - In Progress

For the 2021 competition season, the team is developing a new HV Battery using Li-Ion 18650 cells. This project taught me HV battery design, HV component selection, and interdisciplinary collaboration with mechanical engineers.

PedalBoard

The PedalBoard was my first project for the team. This is a board that handles the brake pressure sensors and the throttle position sensors that are located in the front of the car. This project taught me about analog signals, Op-Amps, and the CAN bus.

MasterBlaster

The "MasterBlaster" is the name of the car's control unit, like a car's ECU. This board has 3 CAN lines and communicates with the DAQ system, motor controller, and the rest of the car.

Personal Projects

These project pages have not been created yet.

Website - In Progress

One of my most recent projects is this website that you're accessing right now. It's hosted on my GitHub, and you can check its code out there!

My Car

Working on my car is a bit of a personal project and a hobby at the same time. I am currently in the process of modfying my radio to have a Bluetooth tranceiver instead of a casette tape without ruining the original car's radio. I also enjoy making my own repairs on my car to save money.

MATLAB DSP Filters

In the Fall 2020 semester, I designed and implemented both a low-pass FIR filter and a high-pass IIR filter on a short, 3 second audio clip. This is on my GitHub which you can access on the menu or clicking the image to the right.

Hobbies

I have not created Hobby pages yet.

Hiking & Camping

I enjoy hiking and camping in Missouri but hopefully across the US when I can afford to do so! Click on the image to see some of the sights I've seen and the places I've been.

Photography

I enjoy taking photos of my everyday life and of the world around me. Fun fact: Every photograph on this website was shot by me (except pictures of me). The image on the left will take you to my portfolio.
